The International Beaujolais Marathon is a one-of-a-kind race, blending a festive spirit with athletic challenge. Held every November, the โMIBโ draws several tens of thousands of runners from all over Franceโand even from around the worldโfor an experience thatโs as sporting as it is friendly and fun. The route winds through the magnificent Beaujolais vineyards, dotted with chรขteaux and typical villages, with aid stations offering far more than water: wine tastings, local specialties, and live music. The marathon course (42.195 km) passes, among others, by exceptional estates: Chรขteau de Corcelles, the sublime Chรขteau de Pizay, Chรขteau de la Terriรจre, Chรขteau des Ravatys, Chรขteau de la Brasse, Chรขteau de Sermerzy and finally the Chรขteaux of Grand and Petit Talancรฉ. And to finish in style, the course ends with the famous โAllรฉe des Crusโ, where dozens of producers offer tastings of their productsโalways in moderation, of course!
This marathon is also known for its incomparable atmosphere: the vast majority of participants run in costume, all in a magical setting. In addition to the marathon, several race formats are offered, with road running but also trail races for runners who prefer paths to pavement! The event also has a strong charitable mission and donates each year part of the registration fees to several charities.
