Budapest Marathon

The Budapest Marathon takes place on both sides of the Danube, with a course that showcases the two faces of the Hungarian capital. Runners follow the quays of Buda and Pest and cross several bridges, including the famous Chain Bridge. The route also passes along Andrássy Avenue and Margaret Island, before returning to the riverbanks for the second part of the race. Fairly fast, the course alternates between long stretches along the water and more urban sections. Musical entertainment and the crowds contribute to the atmosphere throughout the event. Several race formats are offered alongside the marathon, including a half marathon, a 30 km and a 14 km.
