Dead Sea Marathon

Between Amman and the Dead Sea, the Dead Sea Marathon follows a course marked by a long descent toward the lowest point on the planet. Runners gradually leave the heights of Amman behind to reach the Jordan Valley, with Jordan’s arid landscapes as a backdrop. As the miles go by, the terrain opens up, revealing the mountains bordering the Dead Sea.
The finish is on the shores of the sea, more than 400 meters below sea level. The event includes several formats, including a marathon and a half marathon, offering a race through a wide variety of landscapes between the Jordanian capital and the Dead Sea.
