The Detroit Marathon features a unique cross-border route linking Michigan to Ontario. The pack sets off along the broad avenues of the Motor City, weaving between the metropolis’ industrial heritage and the downtown skyscrapers.
Among the highlights of the course, the elevated crossing of the Ambassador Bridge delivers panoramic views over the Detroit River, before a below-water passage through the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel to set foot on Canadian soil. Whether you line up for the 42.195 km, the half marathon, or the relay events, the race features a very approachable profile and a particularly enthusiastic crowd. The return to the American side leads athletes straight to a lively finish line in the heart of the city.
