The Eversource Hartford Marathon offers a well-balanced route through the capital of Connecticut, alternating between downtown streets and riverside stretches. The course takes off at the foot of historic landmarks before following the Connecticut River, where runners enjoy a lush setting and wide-open views of the local bridges.

The race winds past iconic sights, including a standout crossing of Elizabeth Park with its famous gardens, as well as a loop stretching out to East Hartford. With a very runnable profile punctuated by gentle rolling hills, the route favors speed in the full marathon as well as the half marathon and 5K. The effort finishes amid the greenery of Bushnell Park, fueled by the cheers of a large crowd gathered to celebrate finishers at the line.
