Between West Virginia and Maryland, Freedom's Run offers a 100% nature-filled route across varied terrain combining trails, dirt paths, and quiet back roads. The rolling profile, with over 300 meters of elevation gain, quickly breaks runners’ rhythm throughout the surrounding valleys and woodlands.
From the marathon to the 5K, including the half and the 10K, the event appeals thanks to its pastoral setting and standout sections along the C&O Canal. The course finishes in the heart of Shepherdstown in a warm, local atmosphere.
