Lincoln Marathon

A flagship event in Nebraska since 1978, this race brings together thousands of runners each spring across the state capital. The start is given in front of Lincoln’s imposing State Capitol, sending the pack through the city streets and onto the campus of the University of Nebraska.

The course is generally flat with a few gentle false flats that call for steady effort management. The route follows the tree-lined avenues of historic neighborhoods, runs alongside several city parks, and uses bike paths before heading back toward downtown. The race offers a memorable finish on the field at Memorial Stadium, in the heart of the Cornhuskers sports complex. Held in early May, the event also offers a half marathon.
