Marine Corps Marathon

Nicknamed “the Marathon of the Monuments,” this exceptional event starts between the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery.

The course first winds through the lively streets of Georgetown before stretching out into long, straight sections on the National Mall. The Lincoln Memorial, the Capitol and the Washington Monument create a magnificent backdrop on an overall very flat profile. The race takes on a deeply human dimension as it passes the Blue Mile and crosses the iconic 14th Street Bridge. One final steep climb leads to the finish line at the foot of the Iwo Jima Memorial, where every finisher receives their medal straight from the hands of a U.S. Marine.
