Running with a stroller: the idea behind Mama Running Club
MAMARUN is the company founded in Annecy in March 2025 by Doriane Rauline. After becoming a mother, Doriane made the bold decision to leave her sales job and make more room for family life. That personal turning point gave rise to a collective adventure built around independence, commitment and sisterhood. From this supportive and inspiring spirit came Mama Running Club, a space designed by and for women, where running means mutual support, freedom and pushing your limits. ✓ We spoke to its founder to learn more about the ambitions, values and inner workings of this bold project.
The Mama Running Club community: what exactly is it?
It’s an association whose aim is to bring women and mothers together. The association organises stroller runs as well as women-only runs. The main goal is to get women together, spend time as a group, talk and support one another. The women-only runs are open to everyone: mothers, pregnant women, young adults and seniors alike. Age and pace don’t matter. It’s simply about enjoying yourself and sharing time together. Stroller runs, on the other hand, are open to anyone who runs with a stroller, men and women alike.
How did you come up with the idea of creating the association?
I’m the mother of a little boy who is now almost a year and a half old. My pregnancy went well, and I was very well supported by a wonderful medical team. However, I heard a lot of things from people outside that team about sport during pregnancy and running while pregnant. A lot of the information was false or distorted. Mama Running Club is a safe space where women can come, talk, find information, discuss things and share their experiences. It’s a way to stand together in the face of other people’s opinions. I stayed active throughout my pregnancy, and that’s what I want to promote: women’s sport and staying active during pregnancy whenever possible.
No timesheets here, just smiles.

Any Mama Running Club news to share?
Thule is now a partner of Mama Running Club. Members can use their membership to access discounts from our partners, including Thule. They can also try out strollers during the runs, as the brand provides us with demo models. That’s great for people who want to test the products or run with their baby without having a suitable stroller of their own.
Mama Running Club is much more than a running group. It’s a genuine space for empowerment, sisterhood and support, where every woman can show up as she is, with or without a stroller, at her own pace and without performance pressure. Doriane Rauline’s initiative highlights a deep-seated need: to rebuild connections, get moving together, listen to one another and offer support in a society that can be all too demanding of new mothers. As it builds a network across France and soon internationally, Mama Running Club is proving that running can be both deeply personal and collective, both liberating and unifying. One small step for each of us, one giant leap for all of us.
In short, ladies, get moving, enjoy yourselves, live fully and come join us at Mama Running Club.
