Founded in 1906 in Osaka, Mizuno has always balanced innovation with deep respect for Japanese tradition. In recent years, the brand made a strong statement in the performance segment with the bold and radical Wave Rebellion Pro series. But for 2026, Mizuno is making a major strategic shift. The Rebellion era is over. In its place comes a brand-new racing lineup called Hyperwarp, built around three carbon-plated models: Pure, Elite, and Pro. Each shoe targets a specific type of runner, from elite athletes to ambitious amateurs. Elite runners will be drawn to the extreme lightness of the Pure and Elite (just 137 g and 170 g), while everyday racers will find the Pro more accessible and forgiving. Mizuno’s promise remains clear: performance, speed, and stability, delivered through a more structured and readable competition range.

| Hyperwarp: a new carbon racing family

With Hyperwarp, Mizuno isn’t simply launching new shoes—it is fully restructuring its racing offer. In a market crowded with carbon-plated models that can be difficult for runners to understand, this clear hierarchy is a major strength.

Three shoes. Three purposes. One shared goal: turn every stride into efficient propulsion, while staying true to Mizuno’s deeply rooted Japanese philosophy of balance, precision, and movement efficiency.

At the core of the Hyperwarp range is a shared innovation: MIZUNO ENERZY XP foam. This PEBA-based midsole, combined with a new 3D carbon plate, delivers powerful energy return and forward propulsion from 5K to marathon distance. The Hyperwarp family is designed for speed—helping runners of all levels chase personal bests on the road.

| Three models, three runner profiles

Hyperwarp Pure: ultimate performance for elites
The Hyperwarp Pure is Mizuno’s purest technological showcase. Weighing approximately 137 g, it ranks among the lightest racing shoes on the market—an essential advantage, as lower shoe weight directly translates to reduced energy cost over distance.

Featuring a full-length carbon plate and a 34 mm stack height, it is designed for elite runners focusing on shorter race distances, from 5K to half marathon.

MIZUNO ENERZY XP foam is used both above and below the plate, working in synergy to deliver soft cushioning followed by instant propulsion. The result is a highly dynamic, aggressive racing shoe built for one purpose only: maximum speed on race day.

Hyperwarp Elite: the ideal balance between protection and performance
With the Hyperwarp Elite, Mizuno introduces a competition shoe that will appeal to a broader range of runners. More forgiving than the Pure yet still exceptionally light at 170 g, it targets competitive runners, sub-elites, and elites seeking the best balance between responsiveness and protection across all distances.

Its dual-density midsole combines a lighter ENERZY XP layer on top with a firmer layer underneath, resulting in a 38 mm stack height that enhances stability without sacrificing energy return. The full-length 3D carbon plate further improves control—especially late in the race, when fatigue sets in.

This is the performance model for runners aiming to compete from 5K all the way to the marathon.

Hyperwarp Pro: a more accessible evolution of the Wave Rebellion
The Hyperwarp Pro bridges the gap between Mizuno’s past and future. It pays tribute to the Wave Rebellion series while adopting a more versatile and approachable design.
At around 200 g with a 39 mm stack height, it remains lightweight and energetic thanks to ENERZY XP foam and a carbon-infused Wave plate, which is less aggressive and more forgiving than a traditional carbon plate.
Borrowed from the Rebellion line, SMOOTH SPEED ASSIST technology promotes a smooth heel-to-toe transition, with a 5.5 mm drop and a 5-degree rear angle. The result is efficient forward propulsion and a shoe capable of handling both races and fast training sessions. This is the ideal performance option for amateur runners who want speed without sacrificing comfort and protection.

| A clearer lineup and a bold statement

With the Hyperwarp range, Mizuno sends a strong message:
Performance doesn’t need to be extreme to be effective
Technology should support the stride, not restrict it
Every runner deserves a shoe adapted to their level and goals

Mizuno now offers three distinct, high-performance race-day options:
Pure for uncompromising, top-tier performance
Pro for versatile speed and the transition from training to racing
Elite for controlled, high-level competition

With Hyperwarp, Mizuno clarifies and refines its vision of carbon-plated racing shoes. More accessible, more coherent, yet deeply faithful to its DNA, this new trilogy marks a strong return of Japanese expertise at the most competitive end of the running market. Less polarizing than the Rebellion, easier to understand for runners, and still driven by an obsession with movement and efficiency, Hyperwarp stands as one of Mizuno’s most strategic launches in recent years.

The Mizuno Hyperwarp Pure, Elite, and Pro will be available from December 31, 2025, on mizuno.com and at select specialty retailers.
