The Green Marathon Rennes School of Business

The Marathon Vert Rennes School of Business is a major sporting event in France, renowned for its unique ecological commitment. For 13 years, every kilometer run by participants has resulted in the planting of a tree, thanks to a partnership with the Yves Rocher Foundation.

The event offers several races to suit all runners: a marathon, a half-marathon, a 10 km, a women’s race, and a family walk. The course, known for its flat terrain, provides an ideal opportunity to achieve personal bests. Participants run through the lush landscapes of the Ille-et-Vilaine countryside and the cobblestone streets of Rennes, discovering iconic sites such as the Parliament of Brittany, the Opera, and the Town Hall.

The festive atmosphere is enhanced by Celtic entertainment throughout the course, and the finish line is marked by a green carpet, music bands, and cheerleaders. Runners can also enjoy local specialties at the finish, such as sausage pancakes, crêpes, Breton beers, and cider, creating a friendly vibe reminiscent of traditional fest-noz celebrations.
