adidas 10K Paris 2025 brings pure running to the heart of the capital
Every year, it stands out as one of the major highlights on France’s running calendar. Widely regarded by runners as the country’s finest 10K, the adidas 10K Paris returns on Sunday, June 8 for a seventh edition that promises to be electric. The event has attracted a huge turnout: 36,000 lucky runners will take the start. For the occasion, the course has been redesigned, with a majestic finish at the foot of the Arc de Triomphe. Whether they are chasing a personal best or simply looking to enjoy a celebration of sport, seasoned runners and amateurs alike will come together to celebrate running in the world’s most beautiful city.
A flying start... but watch out for the trap
The race will start on Rue Raymond Poincaré in the 16th arrondissement. The course then quickly heads towards the Trocadéro. The temptation to push the pace is strong during these first two downhill kilometers, but a measured approach is still the best strategy. The first half of the course is relatively straightforward, while the final stretch features a demanding climb all the way to the finish.
The Paris landmarks come thick and fast. After a quick crossing of the Pont d’Iéna, runners will enjoy an unobstructed view of the Eiffel Tower. Then comes the Palais de Tokyo, before a more immersive and electric section through the tunnels along the Quais de Seine, complete with light shows installed specially for the occasion.
From the Louvre to the Opéra: Paris in all its glory
Around kilometer 4, runners will reach the first aid station before a picture-postcard moment at the Louvre Museum and its famous Louvre Pyramid. The route then heads along Rue de Rivoli, through the elegant Place Vendôme, and finally past the Palais Garnier.
It is here, between Boulevard de la Madeleine, Boulevard Haussmann and Boulevard Malesherbes, that the pace may begin to fade. Legs grow tired and the cobblestones make themselves felt, but the atmosphere should be exceptional, fuelled by encouragement from Parisians and the smiles of the volunteers. A second aid station at kilometer 7 will offer a welcome pause before the final difficulty.
The final kilometers: the Champs-Élysées delivers a legendary finish
The final two kilometers are probably the most iconic... and the most demanding. The gradual climb up the Champs-Élysées towards the Arc de Triomphe demands one last push before runners cross the finish line on Avenue Foch.
More sustainable aid stations
This year, the organizers are taking another step forward environmentally. No plastic cups or bottles will be handed out along the course. Every participant must therefore bring their own container such as a bottle, soft flask or hydration belt.
Aid stations:
At the start: water and Powerade
KM 4.5: water, fruit pastes/gummies and sugar
KM 7: water and Powerade
At the finish: a full spread including water, Powerade, peaches, bananas, Andros Sport bars, marble cake, raisins and savory crackers. Every finisher will also receive an adidas 10K Paris eco-cup, which can be used for recovery drinks in the race village.
There is still one way to take part
The race is sold out, but there is still a chance to take part through charity entries. It is a great opportunity to race while supporting a good cause, for anyone who wants to experience this unique event in the heart of Paris.
An iconic course, an electric atmosphere and a majestic finish... The 2025 edition of the adidas 10K Paris is shaping up to be a major running event. The challenge will be to manage your effort, enjoy the moment and, who knows, set a new personal best on the Parisian cobblestones.
