An iconic race in the heart of the City of Light

Every spring, Paris gives over its asphalt to tens of thousands of runners coming to take on one of Europe’s most iconic half marathons. A challenge to embrace, but above all a unique opportunity to explore the city from a fresh perspective. Here, effort blends with the magic of the places you pass through—between lively Seine riverbanks, vibrant streets, and restorative green spaces.

From the very first meters, the atmosphere is electric. The start, set near the Pont de Sully immediately plunges runners into Parisian energy. The course then heads east through iconic spots like the Jardin des Plantes, the surroundings of the François-Mitterrand Library and the wide avenues of the Bois de Vincennes, the true green lung of the route. After this nature interlude, the return to the center follows the quays, offering stunning views of the Seine before a triumphant finish at Place de la Bastille, where a large, tightly packed crowd celebrates every runner in a charged atmosphere.

But the Semi de Paris, is not only an immersion in the capital—it’s also a fast, smooth race, perfect for setting a personal best. With minimal elevation gain and long straightaways, this course is built for performance while still offering ideal racing conditions. It’s also where many runners come to chase a benchmark time ahead of a marathon.

More than a simple event, this half marathon has become a true tradition for running enthusiasts. It’s one of the first major running dates of the year, where everyone—from elites to weekend runners—comes to write their own chapter on Parisian pavement. A finish line etched in memory, and kilometers that resonate long after the race.
