With its exceptional depth, constant record-breaking performances, and an atmosphere entirely focused on speed, the 10K Valencia Ibercaja by Kiprun has become much more than just a race—it’s THE place to be to chase a 10 km personal best. Every year in early January, Valencia opens the running season with a 10 km race that attracts the best athletes in the world, as well as thousands of amateur runners aiming for a new personal record. If you dream of testing yourself on the fastest and most competitive 10 km in the world, here’s everything you need to know to secure a bib.
✓ How do you register for the Valencia 10K? All the key information is below.
| A race designed for performance
Organized in the heart of the Ciudad del Running, the Valencia 10K has become a benchmark on the international road running calendar.
Just like its famous marathon and half marathon, Valencia offers ideal conditions for fast times:
✔ An extremely flat course (only 20 m of elevation gain)
✔ Favorable winter weather
✔ Organization entirely designed for performance
All these factors explain why Valencia consistently produces one of the deepest fields in the world. The 2026 edition confirmed the race’s reputation with impressive statistics:
➜ 2 European records (men and women)
➜ 19 national records broken
➜ 233 runners under 30 minutes
➜ More than 2,500 runners under 40 minutes
Performance here is not reserved for elites—hundreds of amateur runners also achieve remarkable times thanks to the fast conditions.

A custom engraved medal with your finishing time is available as an optional purchase for €7 for both the 10 km and 5 km races.
| Refunds and bib transfers
If you can no longer participate, you can request a refund only if you purchased cancellation insurance during registration. This optional insurance costs €4. The organization also allows official bib transfers until December 10, 2026 via your private runner account. After that date, it will no longer be possible to change the registered participant.

| Run fast… and run for a cause
Like many major international races, runners can also make a charitable donation during registration. Donations of €3, €5, or €10 go entirely to the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC Valencia), the official charity partner of the race.
| There is also a very fast 5 km race
For runners who prefer a shorter distance, the event also offers a 5 km race. The 5 km shares the same starting point as the 10 km, then joins the final 5 km of the 10 km course via a turn on the Puente de las Flores Alcaldesa Rita Barberá shortly after the start. The race begins one hour before the 10 km to ensure smooth course flow. Registration also opens February 10 at 12:00 p.m., with prices ranging from €8 to €15.

| Why the Valencia 10K is unique in the world
The numbers speak for themselves. In 2026:
➜ Andreas Almgren ran a European record of 26:45 (2:40/km pace)
➜ Eilish McColgan set the European women’s record with 30:08
➜ 14 national records (men) and 5 national records (women) were broken
In Valencia, running under 30 minutes would place you around 220th position—a good reminder of the incredible depth of the race.
This extraordinary density makes the Valencia 10K a global laboratory for road running performance.
