How to Register for the Seville Marathon?

Marathon
17/12/2025 21:07

The Zurich Seville Marathon is widely regarded as one of the fastest marathons in the world. With its ultra-flat course, ideal February weather, and postcard-worthy scenery, it attracts thousands of runners every year—some chasing a personal best, others simply looking to enjoy an unforgettable weekend in the heart of Andalusia. For the 2026 edition, bibs sold out extremely quickly, and the race will welcome nearly 17,000 participants, a record for the event. Here’s everything you need to know to secure your spot on the start line.

| Registration: When and Where to Book Your Bib

Registration for the 2026 Seville Marathon opened on April 7, 2025, and will close on February 9, 2026, or earlier if all bibs sell out.

Registration is completed:
directly on the official race website, or via the Finishers.com platform.

Seville operates on a first come, first served basis: no lottery, no qualifying time requirements. The 2026 edition sold out in just one month, so registering as soon as entries open (usually in April) is strongly recommended.

Cancellation insurance
At registration, runners can add an optional cancellation guarantee, allowing for a full or partial refund (depending on the option chosen) up to January 11, 2026. This flexibility is especially valuable given how early bibs sell out. The 2027 edition is expected to follow the same pattern, with many runners booking immediately at opening.

The Seville Marathon is 100% open:

All runners register through the same platform and appear in the same official results. On race day, start corrals are organized by expected finish time, with elite athletes at the front and the mass field behind. In an era where many major races impose strict entry criteria, Seville stands out for its accessibility, a key factor in its international popularity. Many professional athletes also choose Seville every year for its ideal performance conditions.

| Transfers, Cancellations, and Waiting List

Once registered, bib transfers are not allowed and name changes are not permitted Refunds are only possible if you purchased the cancellation insurance at registration. This option is only available at the time of purchase and is non-refundable itself. If the race sells out, an official waiting list is opened. In recent editions, many runners successfully secured a bib through this system when spots became available.

| Travel Agencies: Run Seville Stress-Free

For runners who want to turn the race into a full Andalusian getaway, the tour operator Sportravel is an official partner of the Seville Marathon. They offer all-inclusive packages that may include: guaranteed bib, accommodation, transport, and optional sightseeing excursions. This is an excellent solution for those who want to avoid logistical stress or the pressure of booking a bib nine months in advance.
