© ASOParis and running fans everywhere are gearing up for a major sporting occasion. The 49th Paris Marathon will get under way on Sunday, April 12, and the race is sold out. All 60,000 bibs were snapped up months ago. Once again, the streets of the City of Light will be filled with joy and a shared determination to push beyond their limits. Who are the athletes to watch?
The 49th edition of the Paris Marathon has assembled a high-quality elite field for all fans of road running. The race is fast approaching, with an action-packed edition scheduled for Sunday, April 12, 2026. Less than a month before France’s biggest running event, which is expected to draw more than 60,000 participants, several of the country’s top road runners have confirmed their presence. They will battle it out on the capital’s streets, led by Félix Bour and Emmanuel Roudolff-Levisse in the men’s race, and Olympians Mekdes Woldu, Méline Rollin and Mélody Julien in the women’s race.
The 2026 Paris Marathon schedule
As in recent editions, para athletes will set the race in motion through the streets of Paris at 7:55 a.m.. The men’s and women’s elite fields will follow, setting off from the Champs-Élysées at 8:00 a.m.. The various starting waves, covering estimated finish times from 3 hours to more than 4:40, will set off between 8:04 a.m. and 11:27 a.m.. In total, 55,000 runners will make their way through the streets of Paris on Sunday, April 12. The course gives participants the chance to take in some of the capital’s most iconic landmarks, including the Palais Garnier, Notre-Dame, the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe. Runners must complete the 42.195 km course in under six hours to receive an official result.

How to watch the 2026 Paris Marathon live on TV?
If you can’t make it to Paris, you can watch the action live from the comfort of your own home. Alexandre Boyon and Stéphane Diagana will be live from 7:50 a.m. on France 3 and france.tv for live coverage of the Paris Marathon. Olivia Leray will be out on the course, bringing you the atmosphere from among the runners. In short, there’s only one thing to plan for this Sunday: getting comfortable in front of the TV.
