COROS launches a limited edition PACE 4 with Jakob Ingebrigtsen
Some collaborations make more noise than others. And when COROS puts together a new version of its Pace 4 with Jakob Ingebrigtsen, disappointment is unlikely. On one side, an ultra-trendy brand at the cutting edge of technology — on the other, the most dominant middle-distance runner of his generation, shaping the entire running world with his impressive palmares and his now-famous double threshold training. The Norwegian is arguably the most data-driven athlete of recent years. Obsessed with progression, attuned to the slightest physiological signal, the double Olympic champion has found in COROS an ideal partner to democratize access to running data. The result is stunning — and very much in the image of the Norwegian prodigy: a special edition of the PACE 4 that goes far beyond a simple marketing exercise.
| A watch that tells Jakob Ingebrigtsen’s story
The black and gold design catches the eye immediately — a direct reference to Jakob Ingebrigtsen’s two Olympic titles, Tokyo 2021 and Paris 2024. But another equally compelling detail hides elsewhere on the watch. The transparent dial crown (exclusive to this edition) reveals a golden metal connector linking it to the case. It’s beautiful, precise, and nothing about it is accidental. Gold is a color that holds particular meaning for the Norwegian.
“We worked on the watch design for over a year, and what mattered most was that every choice was intentional. The details each tell part of the story. Personally, it’s pretty cool to have my own signature on the watch.”
Jakob Ingebrigtsen
In terms of comfort, COROS knows what it’s doing. The woven nylon strap features a track lane pattern, carries the word “FEARLESS,” and bears Jakob Ingebrigtsen’s signature. The dial displays 03:25 — the mythical barrier the Norwegian has set himself on the 1500 meters to break Hicham El Gerrouj’s record, which has stood for nearly 30 years and remains one of his great career goals. What makes this watch powerful is that every detail connects back to something concrete in his world. You feel close to the athlete — this is a long way from a simple Jakob logo stamped on a colorway.
COROS also delivers impeccable quality and durability. The bi-material case and aluminum bezel with PVD finish are built to handle the harsh training conditions found in Norway, where the athlete trains. Combined with a listed weight of just 33 grams, that’s the PACE range’s signature achievement: a premium, lightweight tool that you completely forget is on your wrist.
“Working with Jakob over the past two years gave us a unique insight into the mindset of a champion who treats every second and every heartbeat as data to improve with. This special edition of the PACE 4 is our way of bringing that elite-level inspiration to our community, through a watch whose design reflects sporting excellence.”
Lewis Wu, CEO and co-founder of COROS
| The PACE 4: what you need to know about its features
Beneath the special edition exterior, you get the full feature set of the standard PACE 4. Released in November 2025, this watch marks a genuine step forward for the range with the introduction of a 1.2-inch AMOLED display of exceptional quality — a highly anticipated addition for runners and a first for the standard Pace series, previously reserved for the Pace Pro. The advertised brightness of 1,500 nits definitively resolves the sunlight readability issues some runners experienced on the previous model.
On the heart rate sensor side, the new 5-LED, 4-photodetector system promises improved accuracy, particularly during rapid pace transitions — an important point during interval sessions. That said, the most analytically minded runners know that wrist-based heart rate monitoring is never 100% reliable. It’s partly for this reason that COROS also offers a more accurate heart rate monitor in armband form. Battery life exceeds 41 hours in full GPS mode. For a 33-gram watch, that’s impressive.
The feature set is comprehensive: dual-frequency GPS, barometric altimeter, sleep and recovery tracking, music storage, Strava/TrainingPeaks/Apple Health sync, virtual pacer, and workout programming. And then there’s the COROS app — still one of the best on the market for exploring your running data.

| What Jakob Ingebrigtsen actually looks at on his watch
We had the opportunity to speak with Jakob Ingebrigtsen about his relationship with data. In an era where metrics are everywhere, his answer on post-training data is particularly insightful — and genuinely useful for any runner who feels overwhelmed by all the numbers.
“The most important metrics are the ones that show you whether you’re improving. It evolves — after surgery, data like cadence or left-right balance were interesting because they showed how the body was adapting and recovering. In the middle of a training block, heart rate plays a central role in many of my sessions. But no single number in isolation means very much. The overall picture is always more important.”
Jakob Ingebrigtsen
Said like that, it sounds simple — but many runners have everything to gain from using their data more effectively. That doesn’t mean analyzing every run in detail, but rather tracking certain metrics consistently over time, comparing them against each other, and interpreting them in the context of your training and long-term goals. Ingebrigtsen takes this further than most, regularly performing lactate tests to ensure he is working in the right intensity zones. Lewis Wu, CEO and co-founder of COROS, describes Jakob Ingebrigtsen as someone who treats every heartbeat as information to be used.
“Technology is a tool. The problem is usually not having too much data — it’s focusing on the wrong data. Data should support the process, not replace it. Consistency over months and years will always matter more than any single number.”
Jakob Ingebrigtsen
It’s hard to put better into words what good coaches have always said. Running is not an easy sport, but it is a simple one. And very often, runners make it harder than it needs to be by over-analyzing their data without a clear purpose or long-term vision.
| FEARLESS: the campaign behind the watch
COROS accompanied the launch with a campaign film produced by agency Battery. It shows the track athlete mid-session in the Norwegian forest, rolling through his stride in a dark, atmospheric setting where he must face his own demons. The film has Walking Dead vibes — especially when the Norwegian rocket comes face to face with his own zombie. Through the “FEARLESS” concept, Jakob Ingebrigtsen chooses not to let fear poison his mind. For him, “being fearless doesn’t mean never doubting. It means continuing to move forward despite failures, despite victories, despite injuries. It’s choosing to keep improving.” That’s the message the strap carries. And it’s what gives this edition a dimension that goes beyond the watch itself.
