Anita Active, the brand built for women who run
Next year, in 2026, Anita will celebrate its 140th anniversary. That is 140 years of expertise rooted in the brand’s original craft: corset-making. Women and their breasts remain Anita’s speciality. This century-old company offers a wide range of underwear designed around women’s everyday needs and concerns.
The Anita Active range
For nearly 25 years, Anita has developed Anita Active, a range dedicated entirely to women’s sports, designed to support them during training and competition as well as in everyday life.
A family business spanning five generations
Founded in 1886, Anita has been in the Weber family for five generations. Its headquarters and one of its factories are in Germany. Bombed twice during the war, the company has always bounced back. Today, Anita runs its own factories and employs seamstresses across Europe and Asia. More than 2,600 people work to support women with high-quality products and materials.
Anita Active’s standout products
➜ Sports bras
For its sports bras, Anita Active naturally drew on Anita’s expertise to create products that meet the needs of women who train and compete. Support, chafing and irritation, all common concerns when wearing a sports bra, were central to the design process.
Alongside developing high-quality products, Anita Active aims to offer a broad range that works for women of all shapes and sizes. Its models are therefore available with cup sizes ranging from A to H.
➜ Leggings
Although breast support remains Anita’s core business, the brand has spent the past few years developing leggings designed for sport. These products benefit from the research and expertise behind the Anita Care range, which specialises in underwear designed for the period following breast surgery. The leggings use the same technology as Anita Care products, with graduated compression to help reduce swelling and support healing. Anita Active leggings are equally suited to training and recovery.
What’s new at Anita Active
The “Momentum” sports bra, a genuine bestseller, is celebrating its 15th anniversary. To mark the occasion, the brand has introduced a new gold colourway.
Which sports is it designed for?
Road and trail running are the brand’s strongest markets. Ambassador Amandine Ferrato, a world trail-running silver medallist, is proof of that.
Triathlon is another discipline in which Anita Active is becoming increasingly visible. Ambassador Manon Genest is helping raise the brand’s profile in the sport.
Equestrian sports were among the brand’s first markets. After all, who needs support during exertion more than horse riders?
