Mizuno redraws its carbon lineup with the Hyperwarp Pure, Elite and Pro
Founded in Osaka in 1906, Mizuno has never stopped innovating while staying true to its Japanese roots. In recent years, the brand embraced performance running with the bold, radical Wave Rebellion Pro. For 2026, however, Mizuno is making a major strategic shift. The Rebellion is out, and a new racing range called Hyperwarp is in, with three models: Pure, Elite and Pro. These carbon-plated shoes are designed to suit every type of runner. Elite athletes will appreciate the Pure and Elite for their low weight, at just 137 g and 170 g, while everyday runners can turn to the more accessible Pro. Mizuno continues to push forward with a clear promise: performance, speed and stability.
Hyperwarp: a new carbon-plated lineup
With Hyperwarp, Mizuno is doing more than launching a new pair of shoes. The brand is rebuilding its entire racing lineup around a simple, coherent hierarchy. That matters in a market flooded with carbon-plated shoes, sometimes at the expense of clarity for runners. Three models, three purposes, one shared goal: turning every stride into efficient propulsion while staying true to Mizuno’s longstanding philosophy, deeply rooted in Japanese culture: balance, precision and movement efficiency.
At the heart of the range is a shared innovation: MIZUNO ENERZY XP foam. Pairing this PEBA foam with a new 3D carbon plate delivers powerful energy return and efficient propulsion from 5K to the marathon. The Hyperwarp range is built to help runners go fast and chase personal bests on the road, whatever their level.
Three models, three types of runner
Hyperwarp Pure: ultimate performance for elite runners
The Hyperwarp Pure is Mizuno’s ultimate technology showcase. At around 137 g, it is one of the lightest models on the market. That has a direct performance benefit: we know that the lighter the shoe, the more energy a runner can save during an effort. With a full-length carbon plate and a 34 mm stack height, it is designed for elite runners targeting shorter distances, from 5K to the half marathon.
MIZUNO ENERZY XP foam, placed in the upper and lower layers, works with the plate to provide soft cushioning followed by immediate propulsion. The result is a dynamic, highly responsive shoe built for pure speed and race days when the goal is simple: go as fast as possible.

Hyperwarp Elite: the ideal balance of protection and performance
With the Hyperwarp Elite, Mizuno offers a racing model likely to appeal to a broad range of runners. More accessible than the Pure but still extremely light at 170 g, it is aimed at competitive, sub-elite and elite runners looking for a balance of responsiveness and forgiveness across every distance.
Its dual-density midsole combines a lighter version of ENERZY XP on top with a firmer version underneath, creating a 38 mm stack and balanced energy return with improved stability, even at fast paces. The full-length 3D carbon plate reinforces that sense of control, especially late in a race when fatigue sets in. This is Mizuno’s performance option for runners looking to perform from 5K through the marathon.

Hyperwarp Pro: the Wave Rebellion legacy, made more accessible
The Hyperwarp Pro bridges Mizuno’s old and new eras. It pays tribute to the Rebellion series while taking a more versatile approach. At around 200 g with a 39 mm stack, it remains light and responsive thanks to ENERZY XP foam and a carbon-infused Wave plate, less aggressive and more forgiving than a conventional carbon plate.
The SMOOTH SPEED ASSIST technology inherited from the Rebellion promotes a smooth transition from heel to forefoot, with a 5.5 mm drop and a 5-degree rear angle. The result is efficient forward propulsion and a shoe equally at home in races and fast training sessions. This is the all-out option for recreational runners who want to perform without giving up comfort or protection.
