Two days before the Tokyo World Athletics Championships get underway (September 13–21, 2025), adidas has unveiled the collection France’s athletes will wear. The iconic three-stripe brand is launching a range packed with style and innovation, blending symbolic tricolour design with high-performance technology to support Les Bleus in their medal bid at Japan’s National Stadium.

The tricolour flag, with a nod to Japan

The collection draws on the French flag’s signature colours, with white and red taking centre stage and touches of blue throughout. An origami rooster subtly appears as a watermark on the tops and as a monogram on the bottoms. It is an elegant way to combine French identity with a tribute to Japan, host nation of these World Championships.

57 pieces for every discipline

With no fewer than 57 pieces, the range covers every event: sprinting, middle-distance, throwing, jumping, race walking and even trail running. The World Trail Championships will take place in Spain from September 25 to 28. The kits feature the three-stripe brand’s latest textile innovations: bonded seams to reduce friction, mesh panels for breathability, ergonomic cuts and Rheon™ technology. This smart polymer reacts in real time to the intensity of the effort, delivering targeted muscle support without compromising freedom of movement. A genuine breakthrough in high-performance textiles, the material is being used by more and more industry players.

Les Bleus ready for their moment

From Jimmy Gressier (5,000m and 10,000m) to Manon Trapp (marathon), alongside Etienne Daguinos and Yann Schrub (5,000m), France’s team arrives in Tokyo with immense pride and serious ambitions. They will all wear these new kits, a symbol of their unity and determination to shine on the world stage.

More than style: performance

The kits may have a carefully considered aesthetic, but they were designed above all to meet the demands of elite athletics: light weight, muscle support, comfort and resistance to Tokyo’s humid heat. The aim is clear: optimise every detail so France’s athletes can focus solely on their performances. It is safe to say the job has been done. France’s athletes now have everything they need to write their own chapter in history, with plenty of class and elegance.

With this new collection, adidas has delivered equipment worthy of the occasion. Cultural tribute, textile innovation and the tricolour flag come together to ensure Les Bleus arrive in Tokyo in the best possible conditions. Now it is time for the track, the road and the big performances in the Japanese capital…

The collection is expected to become available online at adidas.fr in the coming months.
