Paris’s running calendar is getting bigger with a new race that promises something special. On January 18, 2026, the streets of the 18th arrondissement will host the 10K Montmartre AG2R LA MONDIALE for the first time, bringing an urban race to one of the capital’s most famous neighborhoods. The organizer, ASO, wants to recapture the magic of the scenes filmed during the Paris Games, when cyclists climbed Montmartre’s cobbles through a huge cheering crowd. The aerial shots, packed streets and unmistakable setting made the climb up Rue Lepic famous around the world. This new 10K is shaping up to be one of the standout races of the early season.

Running through Montmartre, an unforgettable experience

The 10K Montmartre AG2R LA MONDIALE is coming to Paris in 2026, much to the delight of runners who love the capital. With its cobbled lanes, basilica, artists, bistros and stairways, the artists’ quarter has lost none of the village feel it once had. Perched on the heights of Paris, this legendary neighborhood offers the perfect setting for a different look at the 18th arrondissement, weaving past historic landmarks and lesser-known streets while soaking up the unique energy of a Sunday morning race.

For many, it will also be the first major running challenge of the year. Taking place in the depths of winter, just as new year’s resolutions take hold, this 10K could serve as a useful benchmark in the build-up to the Paris Half Marathon or the Paris Marathon in March and April.

A 10K for everyone, from first-timers to seasoned runners

Let’s be honest: setting a personal best on this course will be a real challenge. The route has not yet been revealed, but locals already know one thing: it won’t be flat. Montmartre is famous for its many climbs leading visitors up to the Sacré-Cœur Basilica and its spectacular views over the capital. No doubt some runners will still attack the hills at full gas, making this a genuine race-day spectacle.

As a clear sign of its ambition to reach a broad audience, the race has been designed as an open and inclusive event. You won’t need a world-class time to enjoy it: the 10K Montmartre is aimed as much at experienced runners as at those looking to take part in their first official race in a one-of-a-kind setting. As title partner, AG2R LA MONDIALE is backing this unifying approach, using sport to foster social connection, health and shared experiences.

It is a philosophy that fits the neighborhood perfectly. Montmartre is a place of encounters and contrasts, where artists, families, tourists and, now, runners all cross paths.

« At AG2R LA MONDIALE, we are convinced that sport is a powerful way to build social connections, promote preventive healthcare and foster inclusion. Being the title partner of the 10K Montmartre means supporting everyone who wants to take part in a race in one of Paris’s most iconic neighborhoods, which has welcomed Olympic athletes and Tour de France riders. We are proud to support an event that combines performance, discovery and a welcoming atmosphere, while showcasing the values of sharing and solidarity to which we are deeply committed. »

Fabrice Heyriès, Chief Executive Officer of AG2R LA MONDIALE

A fresh boost for running in Paris

The launch of the 10K Montmartre AG2R LA MONDIALE confirms the explosive growth of running and the strong demand from Paris’s running community. In recent years, races have multiplied across the capital’s arrondissements: 10Ks, half marathons, marathons, trail races and charity events, and now a unique new 10K in one of the City of Light’s most iconic neighborhoods. With a lighter racing calendar in January, it arrives at the perfect time to get active again after the holidays and start the year on the right foot.
