The New York City Marathon takes place on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge on Staten Island to Central Park, through all five boroughs. Here's how to follow it live, whether you're glued to your screen or tracking a friend or family member on the course.

Tracking a runner with the official app
The free official TCS New York City Marathon app is available on iOS and Android. You can search for a runner by name or bib number and follow several at once. The app shows their live position on the course map, plus their splits every 5 km. Install it and add your runners the day before the race.
Watching the race on TV
Broadcast rights vary from country to country. In Europe, Eurosport carries the race in many markets. In the US, it airs live on ESPN2. The official app also streams the professional races wherever rights allow.
Good news for French viewers: the New York City Marathon will be shown live on the L'ÉQUIPE channel, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Paris time. That covers the wheelchair races, the elite women's and men's starts, and the thousands of amateur runners behind them.
